ETC 33 PROJECT GRANT GUIDELINES

Mission Statement


ETC 33 will strive to create an environment to assist the world of human beings in the following ways:
1.    Promote and protect the use of free speech;
2.    Inform and educate members of the world community of the potential communication benefits that public access and Cyber Space can provide to all human beings;
3.    Provide direction to training, education and technical assistance that will help “users” of ETC33.org and members of ETC 33 realize the potential of the various mediums as a source of noncommercial communication;
4.    Provide a resource center for information, educational materials, programming and equipment;
5.    Serve as a receiving, holding and disbursing entity for monies intended for use of our mission.

Eligibility

Any human being interested in Freedom of Speech and Public Access Television.  Grant applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Grant funds can be for any creative endeavor, including but no limited to: forms of art, writing, photography, video, film, performance, voice, radio, and World Wide Web.  We have a soft spot for public access and freedom of speech.

We request that an itemized proposed budget be included in your grant proposal.  Expenses may include, but are not limited to:

•    Supplies and materials used in your grant project
•    Copyright and licensing fees
•    Costs associated with promoting and distributing your grant project
•    Rental of equipment not available through a public access entity
•    Hiring of crew and talent
•    Education or training, including degree programs
•    Grant funding may be requested to supplement other funding for your project
•    Travel in some cases

We request a detailed description of your project by completing the Project Grant Application Form.  Please be specific when describing how the funds will be used.  ETC 33 may ask for additional information and reporting.  ETC 33 reserves the right to accept, reject or modify any Grant Application at our sole discretion.

As we said, we have a soft spot for Freedom of Speech issues and Public Access.  Grants incorporating either or both will probably be looked upon more favorably.

Grants Project awards are initiated by ETC 33 on our choice.  ETC 33 has limited funds for grants.  The majority of our grants will be less than $500.  ETC 33 normally only awards up to, two (2) grants per calendar year.  ETC 33 at its discretion may determine to award no grants in any year. Grant applications are due February 1st.  Grants are usually awarded in April.  ETC 33 may choose to fund grants only partially.

Grant Administration

Grant funding will be paid to individuals or organization on a reimbursement basis.  A valid receipt must be submitted for grant fund disbursement.

Grant payments will be made in no more than two payments.

Grant projects must be started within three months of award and normally completed within one year.

Grant funding normally may not be used to purchase equipment.

Grant projects should acknowledge ETC 33 for our funding contribution one way or another.
 
ETC 33 requires that a copy of your project be submitted to us for archival purposes.  We may request to post your project on
ETC33.org website.

It should be your intention to distribute your Grant Project for a wide and varied audience.
